Under what conditions does
Reliability work best?
Reliability tends to work better in conditions of higher volatility. However,
over the last 10 years, only the historically low volatility in 2005
proved difficult for the system.
Can I trade the
system on other markets? Reliability is designed for the
stock index futures markets and has not been tested on other markets. However,
the approach is general in nature and may work effectively in other markets. To
use Reliability on non-index futures markets, it’s likely that different input
parameter values would be required.
Is the system code available for
other platforms? The code is only provided in
EasyLanguage for TradeStation. However, the code is open and is available in a
text file for those without TradeStation. Also, the trading logic is explained
in Chapter 2 of the user's guide. The trading rules are straight-forward. Any
competent programmer should be able to code the rules for another scripting
language.
Do you have brokerage
statements available to validate the system's performance?
We don't currently maintain a tracking account
for Reliability. However, on the E-mini S&P (ES),
the track record of the original version of Reliability includes over 500 trades spanning 10 years, the last four
of which are out-of-sample (no benefit of hindsight). The four-market portfolio includes over
2900 trades
spanning 10 years using the same parameter values for each market and for both
long and short trades. With only two optimizable inputs, this large number of trades over such a long time period
provides a very high degree of statistical confidence. While no reputable system
vendor can guarantee future performance, Reliability's combination of simplicity
and past performance puts the odds firmly in your favor.
What is the minimum
recommended account size?
For trading the original version on the ES, a minimum of $10,000 is recommended. For the four-market portfolio,
a minimum of $25,000 is recommended.
When I go to order the system, it shows the online store as "Adaptrade", not
Breakout Futures. Is this correct?
Yes, Breakout Futures
and Adaptrade Software are both owned and operated by me, Michael Bryant. I'm
using the Adaptrade Software store to process orders now, but the sale
is still through Breakout Futures. All policies and terms for Reliability are as
outlined on this web site.
Can I
get a refund if it doesn't work?
You have 30 days to return the system
for a full refund. Please see our
refund/return policy.
The 30 day refund policy is not a "trial" of the system. Please do your due
diligence before purchasing. Detailed performance reports are available for
the system on the main page.
Do you
have any brokers who can auto-trade the system for me?
Yes. Please visit our Partners page
